It was a song sung on the way to Jerusalem that gave a Holy Spirit inspired voice to the singers to help them express their desire for justice based on the character of God. Psalm 128 is the next Psalm in the Psalms of Ascents. Fear of the Lord can be a perplexing term but it is scattered throughout the Scriptures. This psalm connects fear of the Lord to blessing. Psalm 126 is the next of the Psalms of Ascents we are considering. At first glance this Psalm may not seem appropriate for the moment we are in. However, the Lord always has His ways of giving us what we need when we need it most. Restoring joy is a definite need in a time such as this. It was for Israel in their moment.
